Don Perkins is a Central Kentucky photographer. Born in South Carolina, he has a passion for kayaking and hiking. Landscapes, waterscapes, wildlife and wildflowers are his primary photographic interests, but he does some product photography and videos as well. His training and first career as an engineer and computer programmer undoubtedtly influence his artistic style. His focus on the underlying abstract spacial relationships and structures of compositions comes from this background but also comes from his interest in reading about bonsai and Japanese garden designs in his youth. Adding in his love of texture and color, he tries to accomplish well-balanced composisions.

His largest project so far is the photography and web design for Jessamine County's trail web site, jessaminetrails.com. His first local exhibition was in 2018 at the John G Irvin Art Gallery at Central Bank in Lexington.
